A Wedding Mishap That Started It All
'ello there! We’re Ajay & Julie — lovers of epic hikes, National Parks, and sunshine-fueled adventures with our two energetic German Shepherds. Our story really begins on a five‑day trek through Grand Teton National Park, hiking up to that dramatic mountain backdrop—which we’d been dreaming of for years—for our intimate wedding ceremony.
We planned everything a full year ahead: the lodge, the routes, the dates. But amid wedding dresses, hiking boots, gear, and excitement, Julie forgot her sunglasses—something totally out of character. We spent hours searching every park store and local hiking shop, only to find cheap options that were flimsy, uncomfortable, and way too big.
It was in that moment—on the trail, a bit sun‑squinty, maybe a little annoyed—that we had a lightbulb moment: why aren’t there quality sunglasses designed for small faces?
That wedding mishap became our north star. Back home in Florida, with our lifestyle of dog‑walking, park‑visiting and sunshine‑loving into every design thus founding ello sunglasses—crafting polarized, UV400, scratch‑resistant eyewear made for adults with smaller features.
We obsess over colors, temple width, bridge fit, lens clarity, and premium materials—because we believe one size does not fit all. We want our petite sunglasses to make you feel confident, protected, and ready for anything—dodging the sun on an adventure or coffee runs downtown.
For those that need a little extra help with vision, ello will be offering prescription sunglasses. Ajay’s been wearing prescription glasses since he was ten and struggles to find frames that fit, so he gets it: finding the right fit isn’t just a preference, it’s a necessity. That’s why ello sunglasses will soon offer both prescription eyewear and sunglasses, crafted for those of us with smaller features but no shortage of style.
Thanks for believing in a brand born of a moment of forgetfulness—and turned it into a mission.
Small frames. Big idea.
